A friend of mine proposed I start a blog and he be the web developer. What’s a reasonable split for profits?
Damian asked:
I have no idea how much time it takes to write a blog versus creating, maintaining, and editing it (keeping up with and implementing the latest developments in internet technology and the blogosphere). My friend says he has 10 years of experience with web development and could provide all of the “internet marketing, e-commerce, blogging, search engine optimization, web application development, social networking, social media optimization, graphic design, interface design, copywriting, etc.” He proposed splitting the profits from ads, affiliate links, etc. 50/50 and letting me keep 100% of the profits I get from referrals for my private counseling business, but 50/50 feels too high. What do you think is a reasonable percentage split of profits? Would you recommend splitting profits, or having some other business model (flat fee, hourly pay, etc.)? And any suggestions on how to fashion a prearranged buyout agreement in case we decide to split ways in the future so I can retain the site?
Thanks

why do these talk show and media reporters think not bailling out these corupted bank is a bad idea?
matthew_yelle asked:
I don’t understand what the crisis is for the american public considering the dollar has been the only curency that has gain strength during this time and oil has been dropping almost as fast as it rose wich means the fuel crisis is subsiding and the american dollar is on its way to be king ounce again.
i emplore all who agree with me speak out call your congressmen and senators and let them know their jobs are going to be at risk and their cushy life styles will be at risk and investigations into there profolios will be taken under the public microscopes and see if they pass this bill to steal ourhard earned money generated by the people for the people and by all mean under no circumstances are they to pay this money to any corupted business.
rememmber these public office employee’s work for us and we can push to im peach any one of them at any time as they show they are not doing what we want them to do. we can fire them it is our constitutional right to demand them to do what we want them to not the other way around.
let the bottom fall out and if it effects people world wide why are only americans required to contribute to this 700 billion dollar bail out, the logic is baffaling we are not being asked to save ourselves we are being asked to save the global economy who over the past 5 years been running up oil prices and condemming us at every turn . i wouldn’t agree with anything that hints that not only will i not get my money back but i cant even expect to see any dividend for my investment we are being told that no matter what we are going to give 700 billion dollars away and we just have to actceprt it ” i say no and then back it by HELL NO!”
WE NEED TO START IMPEACHMENT PROCCESS NOW .

I understand that smaller business’s will be effected by the failings of these preditory lending business’s. i get how in the imiadeate future after they fail there will be panick but that is where we as a responcible people step up and vote on an insentive package where these innocent business;s can barrow from the 700 billion dollars at a more realistic rate under fixed terms so that they are allowed to grow. and because it is a loan that they will be getting and responcible for they will maintain there independence and generate incomes for it’s employees and as this 700 billion dollar insentive plan for these innocent business who fly straight pay there bills and keep the economical wheels greased the long term repairing of our core machine will be revenbue not debt.
but if you place 700 billion dollars out into a market that is floating these failing companies then your innocent companies will never see dollar one because it will go to the corupted machine

On Facebook, can someone block me from commenting on a photo?
Zaxo asked:
I can see pictures from a friend, and see that others have commented on the pics, but I have no option to comment… as in there is no functionality for me to leave a message on a pic. Is this purposeful by that friend? I played around with my privacy settings and can’t seem to block others from doing that particular action, but then again I’m not totally Social Media savvy. Thanks!

Facebook and other social networking sites making people depressed?
Taos Mouse asked:
Maybe I’m an Internet addict because I work in front of a computer for 8 hours everyday, but recently, I started to feel very depressed do to social networking sites (mainly Facebook). I’m a seasoned Myspace user (I’ve had my account for years and don’t look at it much anymore), but Facebook became similar to a crack-addiction. It went from me logging on only once a day to several times a day, playing with the applications, writing more “notes”, stalking people I liked, and feeling like my life was inadequate because everyone else seemed happier and more fulfilled. In the end, I just felt like it was a controlling my life and I making me depressed…since then, I deleted my Facebook account. But I guess what I’m saying is it worries me that millions of people are signing themselves onto social networking sites everyday. I’m sure this sounds stupid to the occasional user of Myspace or Facebook, but for people who lack control or have “nothing better to do”…social networking can become a real problem. Has Facebook or other social media site affected you in this way? Have you felt the need to delete your accounts? Lastly, do you think that in the near future, more and more people will come forward with social networking addiction problems? I’m in my mid-twenties and I find it sad that I could get addicted to something so meaningless.

What’s the best way to responsibly promote my company in Yahoo! Answers?
baseball g asked:
I’m an emarketer with a large financial services company and in support of our online marketing efforts we want to start to leverage social media channels. We have some calculators and content that can get buried in our site and I think certain web communities could benefit from it.
Since I’m a big fan and user of Yahoo! Answers I’d like to start here by using our content and tools to help answer people’s questions. I’m not sure if there are any written or unwritten rules on the best way to do this – I definitely don’t want to be SPAMy.

Now that the media has singlehandedly made Sarah Palin into a star in order to build ratings?
Emerilesque asked:
do you think the American people will start to see her less favorably once they start learning about the wacky social conservative positions see takes?
jdog, that is the point. The media built the contraversy and egged it on, then claimed she was a star after one lackluster speech.

dissertation topic about social networks and sustainability?
Rainy Girl asked:
Dear all,
I’m about to begin to write dissertation for the next 3 months, for a b2b marketing/advertising agency. The idea is about: social networks (facebook etc.) as a media to incorporate sustainability into brand identity.
Now I have to come up with some specific research question and outline as the proposal.
For example, the only thing I have in mind is:
How to make social networks work/effective for building a brand’s sustainability identity?
This will include, for example:
- case studies on different brands that have their page already in facebook etc.
- what works and whats not
- based on this come up with do’s and dont’s
- and conclusion
Something like this. But the thing is, I just found out that similar research has been done before. So please please, can anyone help me with this? Other ideas?
Thanks a lot and look forward to your answers!
Best wishes,
Vina

Is america in threat of -sliding- into fascism?
angeliccruciphyx asked:
My boyfriend has to write a traditional college research/thesis paper. and he has said he wants his thesis to be something like Is america in the threat of sliding into fascism, OR
the thesis point my other friend came up with: American corporations influence produces fascism through modifying society’s perception with marketing and media control.
How does it affect government and social policy?
some key points considering to research: Emphasizing exactly how corporations are stimulating society towards fascism,
* conservatives advocate more corporate power through business..
* what keeps the poor poor, and the rich rich. What allows martha stewart for example for embezzling to get a slap on the wrist, no jail time. but mugging might get you like 2 years hardcore prison time..
What I want to know is: What thesis could relate fascism and america, what examples can be provided/ researched. and just anything ideas in general on the topic fascism.

Do the politicians and media keep us fighting over garbage to keep us from holding them accountable?
bakphx asked:
Politicians have known for many years that something has to be done about Social Security, Medicare, Health Care and the drug problem in the country. But nothing meaningful has been done, and I think both sides can agree it’s because they are more interested in re-election than in fixing anything or making hard choices. I often see people bickering endlessly over the same old stuff, but I think it keeps people from holding their representatives accountable for the real problems. Is this by design?

What is the best place to find work for those without a degree?
alexb1373 asked:
I am currently on a gap year before university and am having trouble finding a job, as most positions available on the top recruitment websites (monster, reed, fish4jobs etc.) are for graduates. I am not in desperate need for money, rather I am looking for a job that will provide me with some good experience for after my degree, and basically look good on my CV. I hope to eventually work in either statistics or research (social, media, political rather than market research) and so ideally would be looking for a job in these sectors, perhaps just as an administrator/assistant/junior if nothing else is available. Does anyone know of a) any companies that recruit for these types of jobs without a degree, or b) a jobsite that caters specifically to those without a degree?
I am looking for UK based websites or companies, I live in the south east so would be looking for jobs in either London or the home counties.

Has there been, or is there a Media “push” for interracial relationships?
That’s messed up! asked:
I’ve noticed an increase of the pairing of a black man & a white women in relationships on TV. (news, sports, reality shows etc, etc,)
Why do they seldom “pair” the opposite?
I’ve also noticed, that many commercials (tv & radio etc) pertray white males as idiots. (regardless of age)
So what, if any, would an agenda be targeting? If there was one of course.
Political, Social, Religion, Ethics, Morals, other,,,.. and why?
To deliberately change cultures? Public opinion? I don’t get it.
Any thoughts?

Is it cool to “seed” bb’s, blogs, Q&A sites for a website?
earlylyte asked:
I’m starting work for a company that publishes a few websites relating to the crafting industry.
I’d like to see us get a little more traction in specific markets. I know joining groups or using social media when you’re just a marketing person isn’t a great idea, it’s not authentic and it’s pretty transparent if you’re not a genuine contributor.
However, if you’re actively involved in those topics, is it cool to occasionally point back to your site? What about making connections with people who are involved in the industry and having them link back for you occasionally? A good marketing tool or tacky?
Thanks for the feedback.
